Kasale said Robinson Mwape, who is an Armsafety Security Guard, reported that he was shot at and sustained a bullet wound on the right side of his leg, between the knee and foot.
"Mwape reported for work at First National Bank (FNB) in Luanshya at 17:00 hours. Whilst at work, his colleague Anthony Mwape also of the same company who was working at Workers Compensation house in Luanshya near Kabwata Bar phoned him for reinforcement after he was confronted by 4 people who wanted to urinate at his work place," Kasale said.
He said the victim then rushed there and found the same people who wanted to urinate.
"Upon being denied, one of them he was able to identify decided to pull a pistol from his waist, cocked it and shot at him and fled. That's how he reported the matter to the nearest police station," he said.
He said the Anti Robbery squard officers who were on duty made a follow up and managed to apprehend Labani Chiwala aged 54 of New Town Luanshya and recovered a pistol Browning, 9mm serial number 550790 with one (1) round of ammunition.
Kasale said the suspect is currently detained at Luanshya Central Police Station while the victim was admitted toThompson District Hospital and was in a stable condition.
