With less than 12 hours left as president, Donald Trump has managed to use his last presidential power to issue pardons and commutations for 143 people including Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.
And today, (20th of January 2021) Joe Biden has swon in as US president. And so the world and American people are celebrating the inauguration of the 46th President of the United States of America. President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Vice President Kamala Harris now sit at the helm of the most influential government in the world and we have the utmost confidence in their vision for their country and cooperating allies across the world.
Late on Tuesday (January, 19, 2021), in his last full day in office, the US president pardoned 143 people, including his former campaign manager Steve Bannon and former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Wikileaks' Julian Assange and Edward Snowden were not on the list.
Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a loaded weapon on a private jet while traveling to Miami in December 2020 last year. Mr Carter is a convicted felon, stemming from a gun charge in 2007, which meant he was looking at 10 years in prison when sentenced on January 28, 2021.
