ON October 19, 1978, Selous Scouts (a Special Forces Unit of the Rhodesian Army) flew into Zambia utilizing helicopters checked "Rhodesia Air Force" at low heights evading Zambian radar.
The primary objective of the Rhodesian attack was Mkushi camp where Zimbabwe People's Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA) was preparing its guerrillas. ZIPRA was the outfitted wing of the Zimbabwe African People's Union ( ZAPU) , and pursuing a Bush War against the Rhodesian administration of Ian Douglas Smith.
Strikes into ZIPRA camps in Zambia were done by specific Rhodesian military units drove by the famous Green Leader, genuine name Chris Dixon, who straightforwardly requested the Zambian airforce not to meddle with their activities or face comparative activity.
In the event that the Zambian airforce mediated, cautioned Green Leader, they would be cleared off the skies. In one video, Greeen Leader can be heard on his radio speaking with the Zambian air terminal pinnacle and airforce base administrator: "This is Green Leader of the Rhodesian military. We demand your consent to assault Rhodesian fear based oppressor bases on your region."
"You are not the foe, I rehash, the Zambian government and its kin are not the foe. We are essentially focusing on Rhodesian psychological militants."
In a stunning reaction, the Zambian base commandant speaking with Green Leader consents to keep his Soviet provided MIG Fighter planes on the ground.
In 1974 Alick Nkhata resigned to his ranch at Mkushi, in spite of the fact that he kept on playing music sporadically.
The ranch he purchased was among what were called deserted farmlands which white ranchers had left in the possession of the terrains board.
As destiny would be, his ranch was near a camp of ZIPRA guerrillas who were then battling the Smith system in Southern Rhodesia.
On October 19, 1978, Smith's powers assaulted the camp and Mr Nkhata was murdered in the cross fire finishing the existence of one of Zambia's talented performers and telecasters.
