Shawn kabemba responds to fans over criticisms of artists doing political songs

 He wrote :

ZAMBIAN ARTISTS & POLITICS!!

1. You do not buy their music.

2. You pirate their music.

3. You don’t pay at shows and mostly it’s free shows.

4. You laugh at them for driving Allions and Vitz

5. You laugh at them for wearing same clothes over and over!

6. You laugh at them for been poor.

7. You laugh at most of them for staying in shanty or middle class compounds.

8. You laugh at them for not doing proper international collaborations.

9. You blame them for not investing.

10. And now there is Covid 19 and no shows

I CAN GO ON...

So HOW DO YOU EXPECT THEM TO EARN A LIVING & BE WHAT YOU EXPECT OF THEM ?

Every artist is just human being like any of us, they are entitled to support any political party just like you allow Slapdee to support Chelsea or Chef 187 to support Barcelona! Even in the USA or RSA or Tanzania, big artists align themselves to certain political parties at their own will!

They have families to feed, sometimes it’s done as their democratic right and sometimes it’s done as a business just like East Point coming to book them or any bank or corporate company booking them to do a song or advert !

I’ve never heard any other political party approaching these artists with good offers and that they denied! The party offering artists money to do the enticing of people to vote for them is purely business & a strategy!

A lawyer or doctor can not choose a client based on political affiliation! As long as the offer is good, it’s a deal! Same applies to artists.

You can insult or be angry guys.. I’m with you trust me but at the end of the day, all these political songs are purely done as a business and not done out of good will from the artists just to support a certain political party!

And the end of the day...THE POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS. It’s dangerous to change a hungry and angry person’s mindset sometimes! They can even get BEYONCÉ OR NICKI MINAJ OR JAY Z.. but if the Zambian people want change, nothing can change their decisions.

This election is about social media! Let the best team WIN! Am voting and I’m seriously not convinced who to vote for yet!

Be Peaceful... Be Zambian!

Mr. Kabemba.
