With less than 12 hours left as president, Donald Trump has managed to use his last presidential power to issue pardons and commutations for 143 people including Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.  Late on Tuesday (January, 19, 2021), in his last full day in office, the US president pardoned 143 people, including his former campaign manager Steve Bannon and former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Wikileaks' Julian Assange and Edward Snowden were not on the list.  Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a loaded weapon on a private jet while traveling to Miami in December 2020 last year. Mr Carter is a convicted felon, stemming from a gun charge in 2007, which meant he was looking at 10 years in prison when sentenced on January 28, 2021.  And today, (20th of January 2021) Joe Biden has swon in as US president. Medical Stores Limited Managing Director Chikuta Mbewe has revealed that it distributed condoms and gloves to the public that do not meet the required standards set by the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS).  Whilst appearing before the Public Accounts Committed Wednesday afternoon, ZABS revealed that it conducted tests on the condoms and gloves on 23rd September, 2020 of which it revealed that they did not meet the required standards.  And ZAMRA has admitted that it was an oversight by the institution not to recall the products from the market because the authority has been waiting for other test confirmations from Zimbabwe.  Meanwhile, the condoms and gloves in question are still on the market for public use for over four months now.   This is a sad development in our country, where big business men dies in a tragedy accident and anonymous deaths. Zachariah Chavula owner , founder and the CEO of Hot FM Zambia born in 1972 died on second (2) of January 2021. This has left many people wondering for his was such a great person to ever lived. Many are expressing their heart felt condolences to the family and friends, for he was a mentor, a friend, a father, a husband and someone you can call if you need help. Mr Zach promoted many artists in Zambia musically, which a lot of artists are thankful for the generosity and love he showed to the Zambian music industry. And the burial is set to be on Tuesday 5th of January 2021 with the church service at the cathedral of the Holly cross. Mourners will then proceed to memorial park in Lusaka.
